2008 McDonald's/KMAN Student - Athlete of the Year

What a high school sports career it turned out to be for the 2007-08
McDonald's/KMAN "Student-Athlete of the Year"!!! Riley County's Annie
Martin, the winner of this year's award, was selected from a field of 13
nominations turned in by the area schools. Annie Martin won the award
because she exemplifies excellence in and out of the classroom. Her overall
GPA was a 3.91, and during her four years at RCHS, she captured four state
track titles and two state cross country titles. Annie holds the school
record in the 4-K with a time of 14:34. Annie was also a big part of Riley
County's 2008 3A state championship basketball team which finished a perfect
26-0. Another of her accolades was being named Academic All-State her
junior and senior seasons. Annie will continue her running career at the
collegiate level this fall as she will compete in cross country and track at
Georgia Tech. Congratulations to the 2007-08 McDonald's/KMAN
"Student-Athlete of the Year"...Annie Martin from Riley County High School.
