Cathy Dawes
News Director
Cathy Dawes is currently news director at Manhattan Broadcasting (KMAN and three other stations) since December of 2001. She has also been news reporter/anchor/director at radio stations in Jacksonville, FL; Oklahoma City; Peoria, IL; and in Kansas in Atchison, Hiawatha, and Lawrence, over a 20 year time period. Cathy has served as President-elect of the Associated Press Board-Kansas Broadcasters in the mid-1980's and from 2003-2004.
Cathy is a mother of four with the youngest currently attending Kansas State. She is very excited that she will be a grandmother very soon. Cathy also stays very active in the Manhattan area, as she is involved in her church, PEO, and numerous singing activities. She is a member of the Wamego Dutch Mill Sweet Adelines chorus, Harmonious Synergy quartet, and the choir at First United Methodist Church in Manhattan.
