MLK contest
in Local by Scott Miller 0

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?” As a part of the Manhattan community’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration, original works of art incorporating the theme “What I am doing for others” are now being accepted for the MLK art and writing contest. A panel of judges will vote on works of art or written works, that show how you have taken Dr. King’s message of non violence, social justice and human rights and are doing something for others. Submissions are to be turned in at the Manhattan public library before January 10th. All items must meet requirements and include a completed entry form attached to the back of the work. Requirements and forms can be picked up at the library. For additional information you can contact Janene Hill at 776-4741.
