The slick roads caused multiple accidents in Riley County on Sunday. At around 4 pm, 22-year-old Ashley Lately of Topeka was driving her 98 Chevy Lumina on I-70 near Deep creek road when she lost control of the vehicle and hit a guard rail then rolled the vehicle into the ditch. Debris from the Lumina broke off and flew into a 04 Lexus driven by 59-year old Dianne Farmer of Russell Kansas and caused a broken windshield. Riley County EMS transported 2-year-old Martae Johnson to Mercy Regional health center for neck pain. While Riley County police was on the scene working the accident, Larry Green was traveling on I-70 when he hit an icy patch near the bridge and slammed into the back end of a Riley County police department cruiser. Luckily, no officers were in the vehicle or around the crash. Green reportedly did not receive any major injuries. Police say damage to the cruiser and equipment in the trunk will be approximately $30,000. Still no details on accidents in Geary and Pottawatomie Counties. The Pottawatomie county accident was on Flush Road on Kirtner Hill, shortly after 4:30 Sunday afternoon. Geary County law enforcement authorities report a rollover on I-70 at mile marker 304 Sunday. Two people were trapped.
