The search for a new Junction City Manager is down to two candidates. Mark Rooney, whose last position was Village Manager in Wheeling, Illinois and Jerry Vernon, who is currently a City Administrator in Smithville, Missouri, are the final two. Junction City Mayor, Terry Heldstab says the decision is a tough one.

Rooney will be in town December 11th and Vernon will be in town on December 14th. Both will take a tour of the city and hold a public forum so citizens can have a chance to meet the candidates and provide their input as to who they think should become the next city manager.
