Fort Riley is announcing the death of a soldier in Iraq. 25-year-old Specialist Tony Carrasco Jr.of Berino, New Mexico, died of wounds suffered November fourth when his unit was attacked by insurgents using small arms fire, while it was providing dismounted security. Carrasco served with the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, First Infantry Division. He entered the Army in January of 2008 and was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 32nd Field Artillery, 4th I-B-C-T, 1st Infantry Divison at Fort Riley in September of last year. Carrasco served as a field artillery specialist. To date 168 Fort Riley soldiers, airmen, and sailors have died in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom.
