Manhattan/Ogden school board discusses bus bids and construction

They’re big and yellow, and were also a hot topic at Wednesday night’s USD 383 School Board meeting. That topic, of course was buses. A discussion was held after a presentation by USD 383 Transportation and Maintenance Director John Maberry. Maberry explained the reason why the district needed to buy used buses instead of new ones, and why not to repair the old ones. A motion to purchase used buses passed 4-2. And USD 383’s numerous construction projects continue to march on, with the specific focus Wednesday evening the projects at Ogden and Amanda Arnold Elementary Schools. Construction Program Manager Trisha Brooke had the scoop on two pre-bid conferences held for the two schools. A groundbreaking ceremony will be held at Amanda Arnold Elementary to commence the construction on Tuesday November 24.
