One of the two Riley County police officers injured in a Riley County accident Sunday has been released from a Wichita hospital and admitted to Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan. 41-year-old Juan “Tony” Apodaca, with an address listed as Fort Riley, is now being treated locally. Auxiliary officer, 40-year-old Jonathan Dulaney of Dwight remains in serious condition at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita. The accident Sunday occurred at about 3:45 on K-177, just north of I-70, when the police vehicle struck a disabled pickup that was in the roadway.
