A November preliminary hearing has been set for a St. George man accused of abusing a two year old child. Joseph Gardner, 22, had a status hearing Tuesday in Pottawatomie County district court, during which a November 5 preliminary hearing was set. Gardner is charged with abuse of a child, aggravated battery, and aggravated child endangerment. Gardner was arrested August 20 at his home at 10936 Swede Circle. The Pottawatomie county Sheriff’s office was called to a local hospital earlier that day for reported injuries to the two year old that did not appear to be accidental.
